To address the Food Insecurity issue, UCNJ Union College of Union County, NJ has made it a strategic priority to dramatically expand food security among its students, a high proportion of whom are low-income. By working directly with the Union County College Foundation, the Nourish the Future campaign has been established which will begin in the fall 2024 semester. Through this campaign, UCNJ and the Foundation will aim to provide free meals to all low-income students while they are on campus. Combined with the already-expanded food pantry available to students, UCNJ will substantially diminish the incidence of food insecurity among students, allowing them to focus on achieving their academic and career goals. The hope is that this will ensure hunger is not a roadblock to the academic success of UCNJ students.
